Leslie and Ian's Community Involvement
Vested in the health of the communities in which we work and live, we support the following community services through donations of time and resources:
Leslie and Ian donate a portion of each successful sale to the Intero Foundation.
They were recognized as being in the Top 10% of donors in 2011.
The Intero Foundation is a non–profit organization founded in 2002 that has raised more than $1.9 million to benefit children living in the communities we serve.The Intero Foundation is our vehicle for expressing a meaningful and sustained commitment to our community.
To date, the Intero Foundation has lent its support to over 70 local charities – organizations that range in size and mission, but all work to positively impact the growth and well being of children by enhancing their education and personal development.
The Intero Foundation is funded, promoted and governed by Intero agents – each of whom are vested in the health of the communities in which they work and live. An executive committee, led by Intero President and CEO Gino Blefari, provides strategic guidance. All members of the Intero community – executives, staff and agents – donate their time to further the Foundation’s mission.
Leslie and Ian, through the RSVP Program, dedicate their time and labor to assist an eledery homeowners in need of home repairs, cleaning, and updating health and safety items in their homes.
RSVP is an annual week-long community outreach program that takes place in May, during "Adopt-A-Senior" Week. The program provides free assistance to qualified seniors who cannot otherwise perform certain household tasks because they have physical constraints and lack the financial resources to hire someone to do the work.
Last year, 461 RSVP volunteers from the Bay Area provided free assistance to 325 senior households; 275 REALTORS® and affiliates from SILVAR assisted 152 senior households in SILVAR’s five districts.
Leslie and Ian support Second Harvest Food Bank through their donation of time to assist in the sorting and distribution of food to families in need.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties is the trusted leader on ending hunger in Silicon Valley. As Silicon Valley's Food Bank since 1974, Second Harvest is the second largest food bank in the nation, providing food to an average of 247,000 people each month.
Leslie and Ian support Our City Forest through the donation of time in planting and re-foresting our community neighborhoods creating a new urban oasis.
The mission of Our City Forest is to cultivate a green and healthy San José metropolis by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of
our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.
